Teaching & Learning for Regeneration & Resilience
'Teaching and Learning for Resilience and Regeneration' is for faculty and staff who are interested in developing their knowledge, skills, and abilities related to supporting themselves and their students in navigating the growing ecological crises. Participants will engage in training designed to increase knowledge about regenerative pedagogy as well as prepare to use best practices for social-ecological learning in their courses and programming.ÌýÌý Ìý Topics will include (but are not limited to):ÌýÌý
Creating safe, brave, emergent, and engaging spaces to navigate challenging and complex topics and emotionsÌý
Integration of global environmental change into different subject and program areas, using trauma-informed pedagogyÌýÌý
Regenerative approaches to teaching and learning that promote holistic well-being (i.e., pedagogy that is grounded in co-creation, systems-thinking, emergence, mindfulness, deep listening, other ways of knowing, collectivism, reciprocity, self-reflexivity)Ìý
Taking a place-based approach to teaching and learningÌýÌý
Tools and strategies for developing resilience and adaptation skills (in our students and in ourselves) in the face of the polycrisisÌýÌý
Addressing and navigating barriers to this workÌýÌý
The Center aims to offer this workshop at least two times during the academic year, with the next offering on November 17 & 18, 2025. Applications are now open and priority will be given to applications received by October 17th at noon, but applications will be accepted until all slots are filled.ÌýÌý
